THE SETTING:
Home At First travelers staying at central
Stockholm’s Pearl Hotel will probably not be arriving by car but by rail from
elsewhere in Scandinavia or by airport shuttle bus. The hotel is within walking distance
(or a very short cab ride) of Stockholm’s Central Station.
The Pearl Hotel is located on a quiet street in
the Stockholm section called Ostermalm, and within
walking distance of Ostermalmtorg where you can shop, attend theatre and concerts and have
walking distance to ferries, subways and trains. The hotel is also within walking distance
of Sweden's Parliament and the Royal Palace.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS:
 The nine-room, family-run Pearl Hotel
offers all the personal attention and hospitality one hopes to find at a small hotel. At
the same time, the Pearl’s provides the professional sophistication you expect in an
international city location. All rooms have bathroom with shower, TV and telephone. The
Pearl serves a superb Swedish breakfast in the cozy common dining room, but otherwise the
Pearl does not have a restaurant. No matter—there are dozens of quality restaurants
featuring Swedish and world cuisine within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel has a
comfortable guest lounge and a small balcony. An elevator leads from the hotel reception
to all floors.
 ACTIVITIES POSSIBLE FROM THIS LOCATION:
The ancient alleys of Stockholm’s Gamla
Stan (Old City), filled with antique shops and restaurants with cuisine from Sweden and
around the world, are within easy reach of the hotel. You can stroll the streets of the
Old City, stop in the square for an open-air Swedish massage, take a boat out into
Stockholm’s fabulous archipelago of islands, or walk across the main street, just
outside the Old City to view the Royal Palace changing of the guard. Stockholm’s
large island park on Djurgεrden, home to the interesting Skansen open-air museum, is a
10-minute walk from the Pearl.
