ZACH (& BROTHER LIAM) ELWELL PICTURED ABOVE
AT WARWICK CASTLE ABOUT 35 MINUTES DRIVE FROM
THEIR VACATION HOME IN THE NORTHERN COTSWOLDS.

About his trip, Zach reports that he thought flying to London was 'alright', except the airplane seats were small. The food was 'fair' and the flight overall was 'good'. Zach liked the week in the Cotswolds because the English countryside "is quiet compared with Philly". He liked the "old-fashioned buildings" he visited, but didn't like the country smells. Like many of us, Zach found London fascinating because it has "lots of sites to see...especially the Tower Bridge," but he didn't like the crowds.

When he cannot sneak away to Britain, Zach attends parochial school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where his favorite subjects are math and science. He loves sports, too, playing baseball, soccer, and roller hockey. Zach's Mom & Dad, Suzanne & Greg Elwell, are multiple travelers with Home At First and now bring their two boys with them when they travel. (They report that it wasn't too bad.)

Buckingham Palace and the
Queen Victoria monument. The
palace looks a lot bigger on TV,
but the monument is really cool.

After a week in the country we went
to London. The Tower Bridge was real
close to our apartment, with all of the
people walking back and forth and all
of the tour buses, this has to be one
of the busiest bridges in the world.
We were hoping to see it open for
a big ship, but none came up the
river while we were there.

Big Ben.
Big clock.
Big tower.
Big bell.
Lots of gold.
Pretty cool.

The Palace of the Horse Guards.
This would be a really cool job if
you liked horses and could sit
still for a really long time. I
couldn't do it because the smell
of the horse poop made me sick.

Trafalgar Square. The
Nelson monument is
cool, but I really
liked climbing on the
lions more. My dad
told me there would
be a million pigeons,
but I didn't see any.
