THE COTTAGE: Little
Hall Cottage offers history, comfort, and superb location. Some portions
of this lovely cottage date from the 13th
century, making the cottage one of the oldest buildings in Tetbury.
The cottage
sleeps 2-4 persons in one double bedroom (with a double bed) on the top
floor, and a small double bedroom on the second floor, where there is
also a full bathroom (with showerno tub). A sitting room is also
located on the second floor. On the ground floor there is a complete
kitchen with a cozy breakfast room and larger dining room. The cottage
furnishings include antiques and many quality pieces.

SETTING:
Little Hall Cottage is one
of several cottages of medieval origin in the historic
hilltop center of Tetbury just a few yards
from the 17th century Market House and the famed Chipping Steps, which
served as the site for the hiring of domestic and farm labor on market
days centuries ago. Tetbury, an important wool
market town in medieval England, still has some buildings dating to the
Norman Conquest. Known today for its many antique shops and its annual
May Woolsack Races, Tetbury draws many visitors. Little Hall Cottage is
in the historic town center, and is one of the oldest and prettiest
residences in Tetbury. |

"What
a beautiful, comfortable (dating from 1275!) house! Perfect location in the
heart of Tetbury but very quiet could walk to the baker, post office,
butcher shop, etc., in 5 minutes. Our whole trip was a delight!!!" Bob & Ann W., Keene, KY

EVERY WEDNESDAY. |
LOCATION:
Tetbury is in the geographic center of the
southern Cotswolds. It still hosts an open market on
Wednesdays at the 350-year-old pillared Market House. Other
notable town landmarks include the Georgian gothic St. Marys Church,
dating from the time of the American Revolution, with Englands fourth
highest spire, and the fox-hunt themed Snooty Fox Hotel, just a few
steps from the cottage. With lots of 17th-18th century character,
numerous antique shops, interesting restaurants and pubs, Tetbury is a
haven for antique lovers or those looking for an authentic Cotswolds
experience. |

|
ACTIVITIES:
Indeed, Tetbury offers a wide variety of activities, especially
touring
and walking. Nearby is the acclaimed Westonbirt Arboretum with 17 miles
of trails exploring some 600 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.
One of England's great Elizabethan manor houses,
Chavenage, is just outside of Tetbury and is open to the public May to
September. Another important, but not public, neighboring estate is Highgrove
House, country home of Prince Charles and his family. |

LOOKING FOR TRADITIONAL ENGLAND? TETBURY MIGHT BE THE EPICENTER. |

"The
lovely 13th century home in Tetbury gave us a taste of life in the early
Cotswolds. (We did appreciate the electric appliances, though!) Your
detailed arrival and departure instructions and the Activities Guides and
maps all helped make our planning easier."
Y. Meltzer, Illinois

Bath to Oxford to Stratford-on-Avon. While most
tour by car, the Cotswolds invite walking and
cycling exploration. Tetbury is ideally
situated for discovering Cotswolds cheese-rolling on Cooper's Hill,
world-class equestrian championships at Badminton, polo matches at
Westonbirt, the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, and
country pubs in hidden villages. Day-trips outside the region are
also quite manageable, to destinations as varied and attractive as

London. |
