THE COTTAGES: There are 14 Northern Highlands Cottages spread across an
expansive estate. Each is unique, but all are similarly appointed with fully equipped
kitchens and comfortably furnished living rooms. All are set in isolated locations on the
estate away from noise, congestion, traffic, and pollution. Most feature fine views across
meadowland overlooking a river valley with distant Highlands hills. Some of the

offer accommodation
for 2-4 persons using 2 bedrooms. Larger cottages can sleep as many as 12 persons with up
to 5 bedrooms, and offer multiple bathrooms. Six of the lodgings are in groups of two
"semi-detached" cottages. Three of the lodgings are in one row. All lodgings
have separate, private entrance, TVs, and fragrant, usable peat fireplaces. All cottages
are heated with individual heating registers in each room. Private, off-street parking is
provided at each cottage. Laundry facilities are provided in the estate's central
building. |

THE SETTING: The Scottish estate
has 4,000 acres of classic Highlands scenery, including fields of sheep,
heather clad hills, trout streams and a loch, beautiful gardens, long
driveways lined with exotic trees, dark lochs and swampy ponds bustling
with bird life, and a graceful river with fishing and walking along its
banks.
THE LOCATION:
The estate is near the sizeable market town of Dingwall, which provides
shops, restaurants and other services guests require.

travel. Within reach are such popular destinations as the Nairn coast to
the east, the Cairngorm mountains and Loch Ness to the south, the Isle
of Skye to the west, and the remote Northern Highlands leading to John
o Groats on the northern tip of Britain. The Dingwall area is an
excellent central base from which to explore the best of northern
Scotland. |

ACTIVITIES
IN THE REGION: Fishing, hunting,
golf,
hiking, and biking are perfect activities from this rural central location in the
beautiful northern Highlands of Scotland. The estates location makes a central base
for touring throughout northern Scotland. Within easy reach are several notable castles
including Eilean Donan,
Urquhart, and Cawdor castles, among
others. Other important places to visit include
Culloden
Battlefield, the Black Isle, the city of Inverness (less than 30 minutes drive south
from the estate), Loch Ness, and Scotlands wild west coast at
Ullapool. There are excellent golf courses within easy reach,

too, including
Royal Dornoch, Brora,
Nairn, Tain,
Inverness,
Golspie, and others. Several local Scotch Whisky
distilleries are worth a visit including Glenmorangie, Glenlivet, Strathisla, and others.
Walkers will enjoy the several peaceful and pretty walks available on the estate. There
are many walks nearby, too, ranging from coastal and riverside
walks to dramatic climbs up Munros like Ben Wyvis and other high mountains in the area.
Fishing and hunting can be arranged with equipment and guides on the estate. Guests may
fish on the river for wild brown trout and

on the loch for pike without cost. Guests may pay to fish for stocked
brown and rainbow trout on the estates stocked 2.5 acre pond.
The estate can also organize skeet shooting,
mountain biking, target shooting, a special course in off-road 4x4 driving. Theres
also a guided tour available that explores the history and ecology of the old Highlands
estate.
