THE
ACCOMMODATIONS: Modest, homey
facilities with but four rooms (2 doubles, a single, and a family room
for four all non-smoking), Anne’s House is small and personal. Annes House may be of
modest size, but it is not of modest quality. Every room comes with its own private (but
separate) bathroom (with bathtub or shower), CD player, TV/video, coffee/tea service, and
breakfast. Breakfast comes in a hamper with homemade breads and fresh fruit, and may be
eaten in the guest rooms or outdoors on the terrace. |

The inn has a small, private, furnished garden for guests’ use, and a
small store with handcrafted clothing and accessories.
Nearby are many shops, services and
restaurants, including take-out restaurants. Also within walking distance is the marvelous
Liseberg amusement park, the largest in Scandinavia, with its combination of
old-fashioned midway and high-tech thrill rides. |

THE SETTING:
"A Country Hotel in the
City" Annes rustic inn, Annes House, looks like a small
country lodging. It has the same red, wooden clapboards so popular throughout rural
Scandinavia. Its country guesthouse appearance properly suggests its typical rural
hospitality. But Annes House, oddly, is located in one of Scandinavias most
densely populated and heavily visited locations, in a quiet residential neighborhood
close to
the sports stadiums, congress halls, and great Liseberg amusement park of the city of
Gothenburg, Sweden.
LOCATION:
Historic, convenient
Gothenburg the city center is a
ten-minute drive or 15-minute bus ride from Anne's House. Here you will find the many
attractions of Swedens very walkable second city: canal cruises, lively indoor and
outdoor markets, museums, boutiques and restaurants. Here, too, is |

ACTIVITIES:
Exploring the captivating city of Gothenburg on foot or
by public transportation tram, rail, bus, and boat is easy from Annes
House. Gothenburgs old city, with its intricate system of Dutch engineered canals,
lovely architecture, and fascinating open and covered markets, invites casual exploration
and is compact enough to be easily managed. A visit to the traditionally styled Liseberg
amusement park invites a look at the Scandinavians at play. The friendly owner of the
hotel is a welcoming, informative hostess eager to help visitors appreciate the
history and charm of Gothenburg and its many attractions. |
