Oslo & the Oslo Fjord
Oslo, home of the Nobel Peace Prize, and home to Norway's royal family. Capital city;
friendly and walkable, with a promenade that rivals Parisian boulevards, art museums in
the park, harbor life and its own fjord.
The Oslo Fjord, dotted with inlets and islands,
with a history dating from prehistory, walled medieval towns, imposing fortresses, Viking
and Bronze Age relics.

The several maritime museums at Bygdψy across the harbor from the Oslo waterfront are
reached by ferry and bus services. Central Oslo is compact and very walkable.
Getting
Around the Oslo Fjord: No part of Norway is as
congested with traffic than greater Oslo. The commuter rail network and ferries do provide
some transportation options for those who don't wish to drive. Still, getting to the

frequentmaking it possible take the train into the city in less than one
