Kristiansand & Lillesand
(Southern Norway)
This southernmost part of
Norway is a favored resort region to both Norwegians and Danes, who love its charming
coastal fishing villages and patchwork
farmland in the rugged interiorboth maintaining strong traditional Norwegian
lifestyles. One such exceptional traditional fishing
village is Lillesand on Norway's east coast. Principal city is Kristiansand, cultural
center of the region, and embarkation point for ferries to Denmark.

Getting Around Southern Norway:
Visitors can travel by rail and bus throughout the region, but because scheduled services
are relatively infrequent these are best for sightseeing only. Use of a rental car permits
far greater flexibility and independenceespecially for those wanting to stop and enjoy the scenery, and
explore small, out-of-the-way places.
