THE SETTING: Conwy View Cottage is an historic cottage on the edge of a classic Welsh village overlooking the River Conwy. Trefriw village is within Snowdonia National Park in northwestern Wales. Although quite small, Trefriw village boasts several fine restaurants and pubs, and a noted woolen mill.

area, and living area all accessed by the front

In our customers' own words—

"Keith so liked the views from the living room that I though he would
suffer withdrawal pains after we pack up! The cottage was walker friendly, with easy access to restaurants, a small grocery, and the post office."

THE HOSTS: The owners/hosts reside on the on the cottage’s upper floor. They take an active interest in their guests. The host is a recognized Mountain Leader in Snowdonia who leads organized hikes and can provide some outdoor gear if needed. The heavy stone building structure affords guests complete privacy. The owners’ close proximity provides the comfort of a helping hand whether needed for questions about your accommodation, or some local event or destination you may find of interest.

THE REGION:
Northwestern Wales is perhaps the most rugged of any destination in the UK south of the Scottish Highlands. With wild streams, and high mountains, the area has held on to the Welsh language and traditions more than most other areas in Wales. While providing stunning scenery and history that extends back to prehistory, Snowdonia also has a well-developed tourist trade. As a destination for English wanting a mountain retreat, or

Europeans coming for outdoor sport since the 18th century,

the area has a long history of knowing how to make

visitors welcome.
Throughout the region clean, prosperous villages and towns provide restaurant, shopping, information and touring facilities. Unspoiled and pristine, Snowdonia combines British sophistication with the intriguing character of an ancient Celtic culture.

base for touring through Snowdonia and all of North Wales. Outdoors enthusiasts will find superb walking, hiking, climbing, fishing, golf, horseback riding, cycling, and kayaking close by. There’s history, too, with numerous medieval castles one just 5 minutes drive from the cottage and prehistoric sites easily reached by day trip. The well-known tourist center of Betws-y-Coed is 10 minutes away. Several of the "Great Little Trains of Wales" are also within easy day-trip reach. The historic town of Conwy with its spectacular 13th century castle is 25 minutes north where the River Conwy

meets the sea.
